Last chance to register for Hauora Hinengaro Hui Taumata - Mental Health Conference

Don't miss your last chance to attend the Hauora Hinengaro Hui Taumata - Mental Health Conference 2026 next week. Gather with hundreds of clinicians, advocates, and policymakers in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland to shape the future of youth and crisis mental health care.

This year’s event features two keynotes, the first by Professor Tim Slade, who leads an internationally recognised and award-winning program of research on youth mental health disorders, at the Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use, University of Sydney.

In this keynote presentation, Professor Slade will share insights on his work on youth mental health, the multifactorial nature of these trends and the need for responsive, youth-informed policy and intervention strategies. He will also offer an early perspective on the impact of Australia’s social media ban.

The second keynote is from 2022 New Zealand Local Hero of the Year, David Letele. No stranger to the ups and downs of mental health, David has woven them into something that gave him strength, resilience, and a determination to live well, which he in turn, shares with his community.

In this keynote presentation, David will talk about his experiences and how he uses them to help the people around him.

This event is for clinicians, peer workers, managers, lived experience community, whānau, carers, researchers, educators, policy makers and sector partners. With a two-stream format, you can choose to either focus on crisis services (Main stream) or rangatahi youth services (Workshop stream).

Expect an honest look at what rangatahi and young people want from mental health services, and discussions on key mental health and wellbeing issues for young people today. We'll also reconnect with our 2025 theme to cover what's improved in crisis responses.

With the end of spring quickly approaching, save $50 off your full priced registration for 1 week only. From 2 - 6 November use the code SPRING50 at checkout. Online registrations close 8 November.
